SHENMUE is an adventure game developed by Sega AM2 and published by Sega for the Sega Dreamcast.It was produced and directed by Yu Suzuki.Yu Suzuki defined the game genre as "FREE" (Full Reactive Eyes Entertainment) because the game was based on its unparalleled interactivity and freedom,as well as the innovative real-time and weather systems.The fictional story of Shenmue begins on November 29,1986 in the perspective of the main character Ryo Hazuki who goes on revenge of his father's death.Shenmue takes place within Yokosuka,Japan.The game had incredible graphics ahead of its time and claimed to be the best for Sega Dreamcast.Shenmue was one of the first video games to have film techniques.The voice acting in Shenmue was ground-breaking.The game also includes a highly cinematic musical score composed by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi,which required a full size orchestra.For every day that the player progresses through the game,weather conditions are generated.Conditions vary from rain,to snow,to overcast skies to sunny and several other variations.Change of time from morning to night is also perfectly simulated with fully real time enviromental lighting.Shenmue was a very big project costing 70 millions of USD to Sega and unfortunately the game never returned that money back with the sales...
